Giacomo Penco
The arch. Giacomo Penco graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 2000 and is a member of the Order of Architects of the Province of Milan (n°12395).
Between 2001/2002, he moved to New York and worked with RSG on the preliminary project for the restructuring of the United Nations Complex.
He started working in Proginvest, in 2003 he became a partner and technical director, and as a freelancer deals with numerous public and private projects of construction and renovation of urban and interior design.
Since 2007 he has been participating in international competitions within Proginvest, coordinating the section dedicated to architectural competitions and contests collecting important awards and acknowledgements such as:
the Competition for Acoustic Mitigation System on the East Ring Road of Milan - 1st prize- award,
the Magnetti Area Competition in Cisano Bergamasco 2nd prize,
the Milan Polyclinic Redevelopment Competition - Short listed
the Museum of Polish History in Warsaw - finalist/prize project
Social Housing Il Borgo Sostenibile Figino - 2nd prize ex-aequo - assignment

From 2007 to 2012 he worked along with his own company Proginvest, together with the most important Italian engineering companies on major infrastructure projects in Italy (Pedemontana motorway, TEM, Broni Mortara motorway) and was in charge of the architectural and landscape aspects.
An expert in social housing, he overlooks projects for the public authorities (ALER) and private investment funds, focusing on the construction of important social districts Housing such as Figino and Via Rizzoli in Milan.
A safety coordinator since 2012, he is also a member of the Landscape Commission of the City of Basiglio since 2019 and a member of the bidding committees for the award of public works.
In 2020 together with Arch. Davide Camera, Arch. Ilaria Camera and Arch. Marilena Magalotti he founded, the studio AREA49 in Via Bistolfi 49.
