A loft that was born from the recovery of a volume inside a courtyard through the transformation of a laboratory into a residence without forgetting its original function, recovering the use of industrial materials such as burnished iron for the glass walls that separate the rooms, typical of workshops, the large flat skylights with zenithal light and the floor with irregular aged oak slats. The insertion of a patio in the center of the volume creates an "impluvium" light-air well and allows the connection with the hanging terrace on the roof through a perforated sheet metal staircase, which simultaneously becomes a solid and light element, creating plays of refraction of the light. The theme of zenithal light typical of industrial work spaces is reinterpreted and reused to illuminate the various environments such as the bedroom, the large living room and the bathroom, with all-glass skylights.
